Katie Child interviews Dr Nicholas Cole at Chalke Valley History Festival 2023.
Dr Nicholas Cole studies the political thought of the 18th and early 19th century, and is working on a digital project that looks at the way constitutions and treaties have been negotiated over the last 200 years.
He spoke at the festival on Monday 26th June about the US Supreme Court and the overturning of Roe vs Wade, examining the history of these legal battles over the last 60 years, and showing how they illuminate the way in which many battles over policy have been shaped by the Supreme Court of the United States, and have themselves reshaped the Court.
