Often considered the greatest of all metals in art, the history of sculpture is also the history of bronze casting. Laurence Edwards’ career has seen him uniquely master both the languages of sculpture as well as the techniques and craft of bronze casting.
From study and research pursuing the origins of casting through Nepal into India and back up through Europe, sculptor Laurence Edwards has come to understand that this extra-ordinary material has a language and a legacy all of its own. A metal, infinitely recyclable, that has given shapes power, religion and storytelling.
