82. Ukraine: The Latest Live – with Nobel Peace Prize Winner Oleksandra Matviichuk
Guildhall
Returning to Chalke, the Telegraph team behind Ukraine: The Latest  – the world’s most listened-to and award-winning podcast on the war – are joined by Oleksandra Matviichuk (connecting in from Kyiv), the Ukrainian human rights lawyer whose Centre for Civil Liberties won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, who they last interviewed in Kyiv during the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion.

When Donald Trump picked up the phone to Vladimir Putin, it was viewed by many as legitimising Russia’s brutal military strategy, setting off a chain of events that has forced the world to the edge of a dangerous diplomatic compromise. As the war grinds on and negotiations loom, critical questions emerge: can there be true justice when aggression is rewarded? How do you rebuild a nation shattered by war? Will those responsible for atrocities ever be held to account? And in a world increasingly shaped by a ‘might is right’ doctrine, is lasting peace even possible?

This session dives deep into these urgent dilemmas  –  examining the military landscape, exposing the political calculations behind closed doors, and exploring how Europe is bracing for what comes next. It will be a frank and unflinching look at a war, and a world, in flux.
