Lucy Ribchester is a novelist and journalist based in Edinburgh. Her latest historical novel, Murder Ballad tells the tale of 18th century street-ballad singer Isobel Duguid and her rise to infamy. Her past work has won a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award and a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship, and been longlisted for the Historical Writers Association awards and shortlisted for the COSTA Short Story Award. She is currently a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, and also writes contemporary thrillers as Elle Connel.
