Hearth of Science
Archaeologists today use all kinds of incredible methods to explore human life in prehistory, including experimenting with ancient technologies. Our team, led by Dr Pete Hommel, Dr Rebecca Wragg Sykes and Dr Ceren Kabukcu will be conducting archaeological experiments relating to current research, exploring ancient technologies from tar making to bronze smelting and talking about science in archaeology. Come and discover how prehistoric artisans worked, learn some of the ways we study their artefacts, and join in with interactive sessions.
