Dr Matthew Ford is an Associate Professor in War Studies at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm. Matthew’s work has ranged from analyses of military innovation to considering the representation and conduct of war on the digital battlefields of the 21st Century. His latest book is called War in the Smartphone Age. Matthew earned his PhD from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. He has been a visiting scholar at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and a West Point fellow. Currently he is an Associate of the Imperial War Museum in London, an Honorary Historical Consultant to the Royal Armouries in Leeds, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a senior non-resident fellow with the Global and National Security Institute at the University of South Florida. Prior to academia, Matthew worked for the consulting divisions of PwC and IBM and was a strategic analyst at the UK Ministry of Defenc
