Barnaby Phillips is a journalist and author. He worked for the BBC in Africa for many years. His new book, ’The African Kingdom of Gold- Britain and the Asante Treasure’, tells the story of the looting of the Asante gold and examines the debate about restitution and colonial-era collections in museums. His previous books include ‘Loot- Britain and the Benin Bronzes’, (2021).
