Step onto the storied turf of Salisbury Racecourse… one of Britain’s oldest sporting venues, with horse racing dating back to at least 1584. In this lively and richly entertaining discussion, chaired by the renowned TV presenter and commentator Mike Cattermole, former leading jockey Martin Dwyer, racehorse trainer Marcus Tregoning, and Clerk of the Course, Jeremy Martin bring to life over four centuries of racing history. From legendary horses and celebrated jockeys to tales of intrigue, mischief and outright mayhem, discover the colourful characters and unforgettable moments that have shaped “The Race Plain”. Hear how the course evolved into the vibrant venue it is today and uncover the secrets of its historic 17th-century Rubbing House, believed to be the oldest racecourse building in the world.
