Wessex Folk Orchestra

The Wessex Folk Orchestra, formed by William Shering, is a group of around 15 musicians playing violins, mandolins, guitars, ukeleles, cellos, viols, recorders, flute and chalumeau, who specialise in England’s rich folk heritage. They will be performing tunes from the John Playford collection of dance tunes, first published in 1651, and the Thomas Hardy family tunebook. The music is full of life and energy, and is sure to get your toes tapping.
