Arit Anderson

Arit Anderson has been a Trustee of the National Garden Scheme since 2021. She is a garden designer, writer and television broadcaster. After many years working in retail and fashion, in 2010 having a home with her own garden persuaded her to pursue a career in horticulture. While studying horticulture at Capel Manor College, in 2013 she won the Royal Horticultural Society’s Fresh Talent aware at Chelsea Flower Show and in 2016 won a gold medal at Hampton Court Palace Show. She has designed gardens for the RHS at Chelsea and in 2026 is designing her first judged show garden for the charity Parkinson’s UK. Arit has co-presented the television programme Garden Rescue. She currently presents on BBC Gardener’s World and the BBC coverage of Chelsea and other RHS flower shows. Her book The Essential Tree Selection Guide was published in 2023. In 2025 Arit was awarded the RHS’s Veitch Memorial Medal.
