George Plumptre
George Plumtre was Executive of the National Garden Scheme for 15 years to 2025, now managing centenary projects for the charity. Previously I had a long career as a gardens author and journalist, including many books, a spell as The Times gardening correspondent, and contributor to Country Life for 40 years. In 2024 I was awarded the Elizabeth Medal of Honour by the Royal Horticultural Society.
