Rachel Pope is Professor of European Prehistory (Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, University of Liverpool) and Vice President of The Prehistoric Society. Her research builds interdisciplinary method to create a more scientific understanding of European society before Rome. She is best known for her Penycloddiau hillfort excavations and her work on the Celts and the origins of matrilineal society.
